OVERVIEW
Would you like to gain your Short Range Certificate (SRC)? It's a pre-requisite to being a Skipper and it's a very useful skill to have on board. You'll learn how to make routine calls as well as emergency calls in a classroom situation.
The operator’s Licence involves homework, (3 hours’ prior study at home), 7 hours in a classroom and a 1-hour exam. Alternatively, there is an online course available.
During the one-day session you will practice on Digital Selective Calling Radio Sets and complete exercises. In addition, you will learn how the modern DSC Radio fits into the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.
Vic Stuthridge is running 2 x one day courses at The Lant (Clubhouse) on the 1st and 4th of April, in addition to the 'anytime' online course.
COST
The Course Fee is £95 (Inc. RYA VHF Handbook G31). There is also an Examination Fee of £76 which is payable to the RYA.
